Your annual take-home after rent
Amounts are annual GBP. A negative difference means less than the UK baseline on the selected basis. The rent option excludes utilities, deposits and all other living costs.
Flight Risk Capital engine, prepared 25 October 2026. Dated tax years, rent estimates and ECB reference rates dated 23 October 2026; sources below.
The UK baseline uses England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Exchange rates use ECB references dated 23 October 2026; the UAE cross rate also assumes the AED peg. Rent uses dated Numbeo estimates.
We convert the same gross annual salary into each local currency, use the Stay or go tax engines and convert take-home pay back to pounds. This does not estimate local wages or buying power. UK figures use England, Wales and Northern Ireland rules.
The rent option subtracts 12 months of each country's recorded one-bedroom city rent. Missing rent leaves take-home unchanged. Gaps use the selected ranking basis. Percentages divide the gap by the absolute UK amount; when it is zero the percentage is unavailable.
Only checked salary models enter the ranking. Australia is included from £35,022 and Malta from £25,000; lower salaries omit those countries. Tax years and limits appear below, with full sources in the linked guides. Exchange rates use ECB references dated 23 October 2026; the AED cross rate uses the Central Bank's USD rate. Visas, health cover and moving costs need separate checks.
Countries marked “no rent figure” rank on pay only. This can raise their position; the UK gap uses the same mixed basis.
